Understood that cybernetics was a generalist discipline and used it as such, moving between fields through the application of cybernetic understandings. Was the first to see cybernetics as essentially epistemological in intent, thus opening the way to constructivist developments. Developed the notion of cybernetics as ecological (before that word became fashionable): ie cybernetics and appropriate balance. Promoted the method of “double comparison” or “takes two to make a difference.”
